As business owners, many of you receive emails, postcards, and letters regarding annual filings, corporate compliance, labor law posters, beneficial ownership reporting, business licenses, and other filing requirements.
While some of these notices may advertise legitimate services, many are sent by private companies—not government agencies—and can easily be mistaken for official notices.
Common Examples
Business owners frequently receive solicitations regarding: Annual report filing services, Corporate compliance monitoring, Business license compliance services, Registered agent services, etc.
These mailings often contain phrases such as:
– “Immediate Action Required”
– “Compliance Notice”
– “Business Filing Deadline”
– “Final Reminder”
– “Annual Report Required”
What Business Owners Should Know
Receiving one of these notices does not necessarily mean you are out of compliance or that immediate action is required. In many cases, the company sending the notice is offering to complete a filing on your behalf for a fee or using this type of marketing to promote their services.
If you receive a business compliance notice, email, or letter and are uncertain whether it is legitimate or whether action is required, we invite you to contact our office to review your case.
